Cave

“Exploration” here does not refer to the conquest of a physical territory, but rather to an inward journey into an unknown psychological space. The “Garage” is conceived as a contemporary and personal site of excavation, where discovered objects and fragments are rearranged into the format of an exhibition. Within a landscape in which traces of life have faded, what remains are abandoned worlds, remnants of former civilizations, and transformed objects.

Capturing a fleeting moment in the mutation of objects over time, the works engage familiar elements—bookshelves, streetlights, tables, windows—situated within a fictional space. Stretched by duration, these objects grow <Cave>, twist <Drifted>, accumulate in strata, or shatter into fragments <Strata>, <Shattered Galaxy>. Once-familiar forms undergo a reversal of materiality, slipping out of their coordinates in reality and becoming absorbed into another temporality and an imagined realm.

The sculptural language, which traces processes of physical tension and transformation occurring between natural and urban landscapes, moves through cycles of deconstruction and regeneration, positioning itself at the threshold between the organic and the artificial. Dry and quotidian scenes of contemporary architecture are reinterpreted and transformed into a new spatiotemporal “garage” shaped by subjective vision. The exhibition becomes a site where the worlds of two artists from different cultural backgrounds intersect and collide.

탐험은 물리적 공간의 개척이 아니라, 미지의 심리적 공간을 향한 내면적 여정에 가깝다. 창고는 현대적이며 개인적인 발굴의 장소로 설정되며, 그 안에서 발견된 사물과 파편들은 전시의 형식으로 재배치된다. 생명의 기운이 희미해진 풍경 속에는 버려진 세계와 옛 문명의 잔해, 변형된 사물들이 남겨져 있다. 시간의 흐름에 따라 변이하는 사물의 한 순간을 포착한 작업들은 가상의 공간 속에 놓인 책장, 가로등, 테이블, 유리창 등의 익숙한 오브제를 다룬다. 이들은 늘어진 시간 속에서 자라나고<Cave>, 비틀어지며<Drifted>, 층위로 쌓이거나 파편화된다<Strata>, <Shattered Galaxy>. 친숙했던 사물은 물질성이 전복된 채 현실의 좌표를 벗어나 또 다른 시간과 가상의 세계에 귀속된다.

자연과 도시 풍경 사이에서 발생하는 물리적 긴장과 변형의 과정을 포착한 조형 언어는 해체와 재구성을 반복하며, 자연과 인공의 경계 지점에 위치한다. 건조하고 일상적인 현대 건축의 풍경은 재해석되고, 개인적 시선이 개입된 새로운 시공간의 ‘창고’로 전환된다. 이 전시는 서로 다른 문화적 배경을 지닌 두 작가의 세계가 교차하고 충돌하는 장이 된다.
