Roof

Installed at Yongsan Family Park—formerly part of a U.S. military base—the work sits adjacent to the remaining residential houses of the base on the site. The temporary roof structure is composed of layered elements that evoke the accumulation of time, while roofs distinguished by varying contour colors create a sense of depth. Visitors are invited to rest beneath the low roofs, inhabiting the shade formed by the structure.

과거 미군 기지였던 용산가족공원에 설치된 이 작업은, 현재 남아 있는 기지 내 주거 건물들과 인접해있으며 지붕들이 보이는 위치에 놓여 있다. 임시적으로 조성된 지붕 구조는 시간의 축적을 암시하는 층위적 구조로 이루어져 있고, 지형의 높낮이를 상징하는 색으로 이루어진 지붕들은 공간에 깊이감을 부여한다.

 관람객은 낮게 드리워진 지붕 아래의 그늘에 머물며, 이 구조가 만들어내는 공간을 직접 경험할 수 있다.
