Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones is a public art installation created in a green tea field on Jeju Island during the summer season. The work offers visitors the experience of walking above the tea fields, altering their eye level and reshaping the way the landscape is perceived.

Seen from a different height, the familiar scenery becomes unfamiliar. The geometric patterns of the tea fields interact with the surrounding topography, forming an expanded landscape. More than a simple walkway, the piece functions as a spatial device that allows viewers to physically engage with the structure and rhythm of the site.

Stepping Stones는 제주도 녹차밭에 여름 기간 동안 설치된 공공미술 작품이다. 이 작업은 보행자의 시선 높이를 변화시켜, 녹차밭 위를 새로운 감각으로 걸어볼 수 있는 경험을 제공한다.

지면과는 다른 높이에서 바라본 풍경은 익숙한 녹차밭을 낯설게 전환하며, 반복되는 녹차밭의 기하학적 패턴은 주변의 완만한 지형과 어우러져 하나의 확장된 풍경을 형성한다. 작품은 단순한 산책로를 넘어, 장소의 구조와 리듬을 몸으로 인식하게 하는 공간적 장치로 기능한다.
