BIO

Born in 1979, Soyoung Chung spent her childhood in France and Russia and graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She is currently based in Seoul, working across installation, sculpture, video, and public art, where she experiments with and expands the boundaries of sculpture. Grounded in questions of material modes of existence and temporality, she develops a geological sculptural language that attends to the unpredictable relationships and interactions generated as human and more-than-human materials gather and intertwine. Embracing irregular temporal gaps, her practice unfolds open, uncontrolled structures that resist fixed form.

정소영은 프랑스와 러시아에서 유년기를 보내고 프랑스 파리의 국립고등미술학교를 졸업했다. 현재 서울을 중심으로 활동하며 설치, 조각, 비디오, 공공미술 작업으로 조각의 매체적 경계를 실험하고 확장한다. 물질의 존재방식과 시간성을 바탕으로 지질학적 조형 언어를 구축하여, 인간과 인간 너머에 존재하는 물질들이 모이고 엮임으로써 만들어내는 예측 불가한 관계성과 상호작용에 주목한다. 불규칙한 시간차를 포용하는 태도로 통제되지 않는 열린 구조의 장을 펼친다.
